About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and perform structural analysis of Landing Systems components and assemblies while collaborating as part of an integrated team.
- Independently develop structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable.
- Analysis may include both classical methods and/or detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure the structural integrity of Landing Systems hardware, including static and fatigue failure modes (FMs).
- Own and manage projects with minimal oversight while meeting deadlines, budgets, and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Provide structural analysis support for New Product Introduction (NPIs), material non-conformances (MRBs), Part Deviation Addendums (PDAs), and field investigations.
- Deliver analysis results and recommendations through detailed documentation, formal reports, and presentations for management and customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and serve as the structures focal point in integrated product teams to provide design recommendations and solutions that meet technical, weight, and cost targets.
- Assist in the creation of test plans and support validation and verification testing of components for structural, thermal, and dynamic performance and behavior.
- Utilize test data to calibrate and improve analytical methods.
- Develop and automate status reports through tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Drive the continuous improvement of analytical methods and processes to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical coaching and mentoring to entry-level structures engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
