  • Oversee execution of the end-to-end contracting lifecycle for high-complexity commercial and U.S. Government agreements, including those governed by FAR/DFARS, government flow-downs, cybersecurity requirements (NIST 800-171), and export controls (ITAR/EAR).
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for significant contract issues, guiding the team through risk assessments, negotiation strategies, deviation approvals, and alignment with program, legal, and compliance leadership.
  • Provide strategic contract guidance to business unit leaders, including interpreting contractual obligations, shaping negotiation positions, and identifying business risks and opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Legal Counsel to address complex contractual questions, regulatory considerations, and compliance frameworks relevant to federal and commercial contracting.
  • Facilitate internal and external negotiations with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams; represent the Contracts function in leadership-level discussions supporting strategic business objectives.
  • Oversee the team’s compliance with contract recordkeeping, repository governance, version control, retention policies, and preparation for internal/external audits, including U.S. Government reviews.
  • Ensure timely triage, prioritization, and assignment of contract requests, and remove obstacles to support efficient throughput, SLA adherence, and service quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the Contracts function by leading initiatives related to standard work, clause libraries, templates, playbooks, data quality, automation, and metrics reporting.
  • Monitor contract performance across the portfolio to ensure compliance with obligations, flow-downs, and regulatory requirements; identify and escalate systemic risks or recurring issues.
  • Influence leaders across the enterprise by communicating contract strategy, risk posture, and recommended mitigation actions; collaborate with engineering, program management, supply chain, compliance, and finance leadership.
  • Lead organizational readiness for evolving requirements tied to U.S. Government contracting—such as cybersecurity, supply chain integrity, cost/price analysis expectations, and data-governance changes.
  • Operate with broad autonomy and strategic decision-making authority, driving both operational excellence and long-term capability building within the Contracts team.
