About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead engineering teams in developing concepts and solutions that address customer‑identified technology needs and warfighter capability gaps.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams in creating compelling white papers and developing winning proposals.
  • Lead program teams in the successful execution of technology‑focused contracts.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with customers, competitors, industry partners, and government organizations to gather business intelligence and shape winning teams.
  • Develop and lead internal investment projects, including Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and capital initiatives, to strengthen new business opportunities and program execution.
  • Support the AMTT Director in developing and executing strategy, meeting financial commitments, and managing budgets.
  • Support the AMTT Director with internal and external communications, reviews, and business reporting.
  • Mentor, coach, and train employees across multiple functions to foster an innovative, flexible, and high‑performing team environment.
  • Maintain a Raytheon presence at key technical conferences and meetings.
  • Travel as required to support customers, partners, and program objectives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 12 years of prior chemical or materials engineering experience.
  • Experience in capture management and/or managing technology development programs.
  • Experience creating advanced materials research and development projects.
  • Relationship or network with U.S. Government Research and Development organizations and laboratories, Federally Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs), industry, and/or academic technical and programmatic leaders in the R&D community.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start.
