About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Configuration Management organization provides a unique system-level vantage point of not just engine architecture, but also of how the major business units across Pratt & Whitney feed data to deliver products.
  • Write and process engineering changes, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Analyze the Nature, Reason, and Substantiation of minor engineering changes, providing guidance to requestors and ensuring alignment with configuration management standards.
  • Perform reviews of minor engineering changes to verify compliance with standard procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to established naming conventions and nomenclature standards for parts, documents, and configuration baselines to maintain consistency and traceability.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Design Integration teams, IPTs (Integrated Product Teams), and CIPTs (Component Integrated Product Teams), to support Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities and the engineering change process.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and enforcement of nomenclature guidelines and provide training or guidance to requestors and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Participate in department initiatives using the CORE operating system framework, contributing ideas for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Utilize configuration management tools to maintain accurate records, reports, and baselines, ensuring traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Contribute to audits, reviews, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years of experience in configuration management or engineering or an Advanced degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Hands-on experience with CM procedures and the engineering change process.
  • Experience in tools such as Teamcenter, SAP, and Product Definition tools.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the CORE operating system framework or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.
