About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Confidently provide clear, concise communications with peers and Collins leadership.
- Assist in efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting pump program productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction.
- Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
- Assist in technical support for piece part supplier change verification.
- Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.
- Coordinate between project management and planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support plant output.
- Support less experienced engineers within the team.
- Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.
- Understand, help write, improve, and execute test procedures.
- Analyze, interpret, and report out test results.
- Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering setbacks.
- Read and interpret drawings, provide mark ups, and coordinate drawing releases.
- Develop disposition and substantiation for stocked and delivered hardware.
- Coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
- Help estimate and track project budget and schedule utilizing EVMS decision making.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Mechanical or Systems Engineering Degree
- Experience in a production role supporting aerospace rotating equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware
