About the role
- Develop concepts of operation (CONOPS) for radar systems, focusing on spectrum management and coexistence of DoD and commercial wireless systems.
- Lead technical discussions both internally and externally related to the design and deployment of spectrum-sharing solutions.
- Generate system and software requirements for implementation.
- Support assessment of developed solutions for validity and robustness under varying test conditions.
- Collaborate with program leadership and the Office of the Chief Engineer to guide future developments in spectrum technology.
- Identify and mitigate technical challenges, working with systems engineers, software engineers, and test engineers to resolve and verify solutions.
- Present findings and solutions to program leadership and external customers.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with commercial telecom industry including FCC standards and compliance.
- Experience with MATLAB.
- Experience with design, development, analysis of radar system and/or software architectures.
- Design and engineering experience with modern 5G technologies, including array beamforming, 5G Core Network architecture, and commercial wireless error correction capabilities.
- Expertise in telecom interference robustness and its downstream impact on user performance.
- Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments.
- Experience with C++, Python, or similar.
- Experience with requirements development tools, such as DOORS.
- Systems engineering experience on DoD systems.
