About the role

  • Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate signal processing software with satellite ground systems
  • Develop and implement algorithms for signal processing, including Fourier transforms, digital signal processing, and RF signal processing
  • Analyze and optimize signal processing algorithms for improved performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to signal processing software
  • Lead one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any project
  • Follow established Software processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts and requirements

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI with Polygraph U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date with the adjudication date less than three years ago from your starting date for this position
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience as a Signals Software Engineer (SSWE) or equivalent on a project with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF)
  • Experience with Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, signals analysis tools (e.g., Wigner-Ville transform (WVT), DVT), and digital signal processing (e.g., adaptive beamforming/ filtering, demodulation)
  • Experience with software-defined radio architectures
  • Experience in programming languages such as Java, C, C++, and Python
  • Experience with satellite communication systems and ground systems
  • Experience with commercial wireless standards
  • Experience with geolocation techniques
  • Experience with software configuration management
  • Experience with Python and Matlab
