About the role

  • Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced avionics products, including Head-Up Display systems, Helmet Mounted Display systems, vision systems, and innovative display products for the commercial, corporate, and military aircraft markets.
  • Characterize, test, and develop sophisticated algorithms for optical systems to enhance display performance and reliability.
  • Define and manage system-level requirements, including preparation of system specifications, system descriptions, wiring diagrams, interface control documents, and sub-assembly requirement documentation.
  • Provide conceptual system designs to decompose high-level requirements into actionable lower-level requirements; collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams to ensure alignment between system functions and design implementations.
  • Lead and participate in system design reviews in accordance with MIL-STD-1521 or similar internal processes, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
  • Develop system integration cases and procedures for optical components and sub-assemblies, ensuring seamless integration into avionics systems.
  • Manage the planning and execution of system verification and validation activities, including creating traceability artifacts from system functional requirements.
  • Create and present technical content for all design reviews, both internal and external, with a focus on delivering high-quality systems that meet program objectives.
  • Proactively identify potential technical and programmatic risks, propose solutions, and ensure timely resolution to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within a multidisciplinary team to bring innovative products to market.
