About the role

  • Perform detailed finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural, thermal, and dynamic behavior of avionics sensor components and systems.
  • Develop, calibrate, and validate simulation models to ensure accurate prediction of sensor performance under various operational and environmental conditions.
  • Support the design optimization of sensor housing and internal components to meet stringent aerospace requirements.
  • Provide technical input into the evaluation of materials and manufacturing processes to enhance sensor durability and reduce weight.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure sensor designs meet program requirements and customer expectations.
  • Interpret analysis results and provide actionable recommendations to improve product performance, reliability, and lifecycle.
  • Ensure alignment with aerospace industry standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810) and internal quality processes.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of analysis methods, results, and design recommendations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the Avionics Sensors organization.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
