About the role
- Develop and maintain dynamic system models and simulation tools to support advanced landing gear systems.
- Perform static and dynamic loads analysis, including landing impact simulations, retraction/extension modeling, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Establish, document, and validate test criteria for landing gear systems, correlating analytical models with test data.
- Support quality investigations, in-service performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to align technical requirements and drive program success.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior team members, fostering skill development and team growth.
- Track and mitigate risks, resolve blockers, and drive continuous improvement in processes.
- Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally based on business needs.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of kinematics, dynamics of machinery, fluid dynamics, and/or control theory.
- Familiarity with coding and simulation environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or related industries.
- Expertise in landing gear development or dynamic loads environments.
- Proficiency in Multi-body Dynamics (MBD) tools, such as Adams.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., CATIA V5).
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, such as Nastran or Abaqus.
- Knowledge of Integrated Development Environments (IDE) and version control systems like Git.
- Basic understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, such as TeamCenter.
