About the role
- Serve as the primary technical interface for customers regarding all F135 controls hardware, managing over 100 line-replaceable units, including pumps, fuel controls, digital engine controls, sensors, actuators, and heat exchangers.
- Lead and coordinate product teams to execute program initiatives, ensuring high-quality deliverables with a proven track record of on-time performance for Class 1 engineering changes.
- Drive cross-functional activities to prevent production interruptions, implementing critical deviations, resolve supplier issues, and proactively mitigating obsolescence risks.
- Partner with Pratt & Whitney reliability and software teams to assess control system performance and implement solutions that improve operational reliability and sustainment capabilities for armed services.
- Representing ECS on the Collins Project Engineering Discipline Steering Committee, providing technical guidance and program insight to influence strategic decisions.
- Drive tangible outcomes by combining technical insight with strong interpersonal skills.
- Work internally and with customers to identify and resolve issues related to Collins hardware in the engine.
- Mentor and develop engineers across multiple sites and hybrid/remote environments, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Champion engineering excellence and safety, contributing to a culture recognized for innovation and high performance.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- Proven experience in aerospace project engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
