About the role

  • Design, develop, test, and release software products for Radar or C2 programs.
  • Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for MDS Department programs.
  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, including development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
  • Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
  • Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain configuration management of software products.
  • Learn Missile Defense Systems and/or Command and Control (C2) Systems, large-scale software development, and CI/CD testing frameworks and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date (stated elsewhere in posting).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python) (preferred).
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications (preferred).
  • Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills (preferred).
  • Experience contributing to a team environment for developing solutions to complex technical problems (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements (preferred).
  • Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration and training (preferred).
  • Ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team.
