About the role
- Co-Ops at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business.
- Provide analytical support through all design phase, production manufacturing, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
- Perform state-of-the-art ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, mission low cycle fatigue life, residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction, and optimization; stress testing and data reduction; production and in-service field investigations.
- Participate in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Ability to write clear documentation, as well as to create and provide impactful, persuasive technical presentations to IPT, CIPT, and customers.
- Develop and sustain a healthy work relationship based on mutual trust with peers, internal and external customers where significant interaction is expected.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative.
- A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace.
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges.
- Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share your knowledge with others.
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Team oriented and cultural awareness.
- Basic experience with some of these software and programming languages: ANSYS, APDL, Workbench, ABAQUS, PATRAN / NASTRAN, MATLAB, VBA, Python, C++, Fortran, MS Office or NX.
- Enrolled on its senior year of college.
