About the role
- Utilizing strong mechanical hardware design experience and knowledge with ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, electronics packaging and/or array integration
- Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phase array radars/electronics for multiple military programs
- Supervising the definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, component selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout, and delivering the final technical data package
- Employing transition-to-production practices with the ability to lead a design release into production
- Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals with ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work
- Preparing proposal inputs on behalf of the product area
- Providing technical conscience, challenged with making sure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements while helping to remove roadblocks
- Perform complex tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function are as intended by design for the use-application.
- Interacting frequently with senior personnel, occasionally including external customers, on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
- minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years in the design of radar architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace or commercial applications
- Proficiency with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T experience in practice
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
