About the role

  • Interpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding.
  • Ensuring flow down of Product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements and Statement of Work content.
  • Ensuring compliance with these quality requirements.
  • Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives.
  • Identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans.
  • Driving continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean methodologies.
  • Working with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills.
  • Participating in supplier design, process change, qualification test, and procedure reviews.
  • Supporting supplier assessments, audits, and reviews.
  • Visiting Suppliers on regular cadence up to 50% travel.

Requirements

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience is in Manufacturing, Aerospace and/or Defense Quality Engineering.
  • Experience of Root Cause Corrective Action Investigations and/or Implementation.
  • Experience working within commercial and/or aerospace and defense regulations and standards (examples AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)
  • Technical drawing interpretation and/or hardware inspection techniques.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
