About the role

  • Managing the engineering development and program execution of FPGA development for Collins Aerospace Mission Systems (MiS).
  • Responsibilities include planning, organizing, resource allocation, personnel development, performance reviews, salary planning, and overall group management of FPGA engineers.
  • Project execution direction to the engineering team.
  • Will work directly with and/or manage daily activities of FPGA engineers, project engineering, program management, and supporting organizations to develop FPGA solutions for military products based on product line architectures.
  • Will lead the engineering team using strong interaction, interpersonal, mentoring and negotiating skills, and will be responsible for managing project risks/issues and elevating to upper management when appropriate.
  • Responsible for adhering to and supporting Collins process methodologies while developing and managing commitments to meet project financial and schedule deliverables and quality requirements.
  • Will work directly with systems engineering teams and coordinate requirements identification, development and acceptance testing of software deliveries.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Experience in all product development phases from concept, initial planning, Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), final qualification testing, and factory transition.
  • High-level understanding of systems and hardware development.
  • Proven ability to guide and lead development processes, develop the team composition, and will be responsible for training.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required.
