About the role
- Lead the planning and execution of ECS technology programs, ensuring critical technical, schedule, and cost milestones are achieved.
- Serve as the programmatic leader for engine demonstration and technology maturation efforts, including engine testing support.
- Provide leadership and coordination to project leads and internal design engineering teams developing advanced ECS concepts.
- Identify and secure cross-functional resources required to successfully execute internally funded and strategic technology programs.
- Manage program budgets, resource plans, and spend forecasting for internally funded R&D initiatives.
- Act as a strong advocate for ECS technology programs, identifying synergies, efficiencies, and collaboration opportunities across Power & Controls.
- Drive R&D activities from early concept generation through execution, adoption, and readiness for insertion into future products.
- Develop and influence long-term technology insertion strategies, partnering with technical leads to gain senior leadership and customer alignment.
- Manage programs across multiple technical disciplines, including electronics, mechanical power conversion, sustainability, and thermal management.
- Support business pursuits, innovation initiatives, and next-generation readiness activities within the ECS Innovation Office.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- Engineering or strong technical background enabling effective engagement with design and test teams.
- Experience leading multi-functional, integrated product development teams, including task planning and execution to cost and schedule.
- Familiarity with Engine Control Systems and/or complex aerospace systems.
- Experience supporting engine testing, demonstrations, or technology readiness advancement.
- Advanced technical or business degree (MS, MBA, or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM/EVMS) principles.
