About the role
- The Component Engineer will be responsible for managing electronic and electromechanical components throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with design, quality, and regulatory standards.
- This role supports product integrity by mitigating obsolescence risks, maintaining approved component databases, and collaborating with design teams to select and qualify parts for aerospace and defence applications.
- The Component Engineer role plays a key role in shaping and managing part number set-ups, configurations and a range of technical processes that keep operations running smoothly.
Requirements
- HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of electronic components and their applications.
- Experience with component lifecycle management and obsolescence tools.
- Familiarity with aerospace/defense standards and quality requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain relevant security clearance for the role (or other security clearances if applicable) - e.g. baseline, SC, DV.
- Flexibility on location and ability to travel to our UK facilities and overseas.
- Excellent STEM skills demonstrated through academic achievement.
