About the role
- Partner with our suppliers to drive effective performance, strong relationship, and reliable health within the supply chain.
- Suppliers are managed based on risk and impact while constraints are removed across the value stream by engaging with suppliers using established best practices: Manages internal customer and/or supplier issues.
- Manage financial goals in relation to subcontract deliveries.
- Drive the success of meeting business factory MRP.
- Drive KPI Improvement Targets.
- Develop plans to promote performance improvements.
- Provide guidance regarding subcontract management of purchase orders utilizing integrated supply chain models.
- Preparation of all manner of solicitations including RFQ, RFP, and RFI.
- Analyze quotations/proposals utilizing price/cost analysis techniques.
- Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations (Price, Delivery, Terms).
- Place Purchase Orders of high dollar levels and procurement complexity.
- Perform risk analysis, and develop mitigation plans and solutions to problems.
- Travel to RTX and supplier facilities as deemed necessary - typical travel may be monthly or more.
Requirements
- Typically requires bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience in supply chain management or similar role.
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) or within other heavily regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, medical, space, aviation, power generation or automotive.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Experience in written contractual authorization/vehicles (Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus, etc.)
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Finance or STEM field
- Experience in the Aerospace industry
- Ability to analyze Cost and Pricing Data and determine proposal compliance
- Ability to understand technical requirements of procured hardware and services including Statements of Work (SOW)
- Ability to process information and manage multiple conflicting priorities to drive to successful outcome (i.e., multi-task)
- Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area
- Broad knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
