  • Search for and identify root cause of issues.
  • Create military compliant designs that incorporate custom machined/sheet metal parts with a selection of commercial off the shelf items as required.
  • Perform structural analysis of aerospace components including static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue life, fracture mechanics predictions and damage tolerance analyses to ensure such requirements as sizing, strength, and dynamic load are met throughout the design life-cycle.
  • Design new products and processes, and improves and maintains existing products.
  • Investigates pertinent design factors such as cost, ease of manufacture, tolerancing, availability and compatibility of materials and equipment, interchangeability, maintainability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements.
  • Create 3D product models, outlines, and layouts
  • Support product design reviews and coordinate work with project, engineering, and manufacturing teams

  • Experience with the calculation and documentation of modal analysis, internal stress loading, fatigue, and margins of safety.
  • Background in analysis and design of commercial industry standards and military electronics packaging form factors, chassis design, and electromechanical applications.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, CATIA, NX, or similar)
  • Direct experience with printed circuit board (PCB) designs.
  • Can support tasks not directly mechanical such as component selection and layout to ensure mechanical environmental considerations are met.
  • Practical experience in design and environmental mitigation for electronics packaging designs
