About the role
- Lead through Empowerment: Manage and coach a team of PMs, focusing on raising the bar for the PM craft and ensuring their individual roadmaps are aligned with the broader vision.
- Orchestrate the Product Truth: Lead our 6-month planning cycles to create a single, traceable roadmap. You’ll balance the needs of existing customers (Retain) with the strategic expansion into new markets (Land/Expand).
- Drive Product Innovation: Act as a player-coach for new product concepts. You’ll use "vibe-coding" and rapid prototyping to validate ideas with stakeholders and customers that could define the next wave of RTI’s growth in physical AI and autonomous systems.
- Own the Business Model: Collaborate with executive leadership to manage and iterate on pricing, licensing, and packaging strategies that maximize customer value and RTI’s business growth.
- Bridge the Organization: Build strong, trust-based relationships with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and the Executive Management Team. You will be the primary voice of the product, ensuring cross-functional alignment and eliminating operational friction.
- Curate Market Intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competition, and emerging technologies (Physical AI, Autonomous Systems) to refine RTI’s product direction.
Requirements
- Proven PM Leadership: 10+ years in Product Management, with 3+ years specifically managing other PMs at a Director or Group PM level.
- Deep Infrastructure Expertise: Strong "under the hood" technical depth in middleware, distributed systems, or developer tools within high-consequence domains (e.g., Automotive, Robotics, Defense).
- The Hybrid Track Record: Demonstrated success managing mature product lines while simultaneously leading "0 to 1" innovation or major category shifts.
- Collaborative Influence: A "bridge-builder" with a proven ability to resolve cross-functional friction, prioritize active listening, and lead through others to gather buy-in.
- Strategic Storytelling: Ability to transform dense technical details into compelling narratives that inspire and align both engineering leads and executive stakeholders.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to partner effectively with R&D leads on "problem vs. solution" definitions and architecture without needing to write production code.
- Coaching Mindset: A passion for mentoring junior or new-to-company PMs and raising the bar for the entire PM craft.
- ICP Mastery: Deep understanding of how to define and validate Ideal Customer Profiles for complex B2B products.
- Outcome-Oriented: Ability to take on full ownership of product success, maintaining a disciplined focus on long-term platform goals while ensuring consistent short-term delivery through team empowerment rather than oversight.
