About the role
- Lead and/or contribute to highly complex health research projects across capability areas in RTI’s Solutions organization
- Contribute to research tasks of significant technical complexity, developing and implementing innovative and creative technical solutions to research problems, questions, and issues
- Review and improve project reports, develop and manage budgets, define costing plans and monitor project costs
- Present results of research and policy analyses to clients and at professional conferences
- Manage and mentor early career, mid-level, and other senior-level staff to achieve project goals
- Manage quality control processes across all aspects of projects to ensure delivery of high quality and accurate work products
- Maintain close and productive communication with clients
- Act as a subject matter expert on federal public health insurance program policy and value-based payment across payers, including accountable care organization (ACO) models
- Anticipate internal and or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommend process, product or service improvements
- Contribute to the development of functional strategy on projects of significant technical complexity, contract value, or strategic importance; support project teams to achieve milestones and objectives
- Design and manage analyses to evaluate the impact of health care programs and policies, or to support the implementation of health care programs testing delivery system and payment redesign
- Lead teams in performing research tasks of significant technical complexity
- In collaboration with RTI’s Growth organization, contribute to planning and developing the Center’s business development strategy
- Develop new business avenues and opportunities by establishing close client relationships and being recognized for technical expertise
- Participate in business development activities including meetings with prospective clients and leveraging strategic opportunities to promote RTI’s capabilities and services
- Oversee information gathering; review technical data and information summaries
- Plan and direct the preparation of large proposals of significant technical complexity, contract value, or strategic importance
- Develop and expand RTI reputation as “resident expert” in a technical/methodological area
Requirements
- A PhD with at least 10 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 14 years of related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 18 years of related experience
- Experience designing, implementing, or evaluating Medicare value-based payment programs
- Demonstrated expertise in the Medicare Shared Savings Program and accountable care organizations (ACOs)
- Experience supporting policy change through notice and comment federal rulemaking
- Experience building consensus across multiple stakeholders
- Experience leading large teams (30+ staff)
- Experience developing, testing, and implementing cost efficiency measures
- Experience developing and operationalizing provider reports
- Experience with approaches toward improving operational efficiency, e.g., LEAN or Kaizen
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well with others and independently
- Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Attention to detail and accuracy
