About the role
- Research, address, and consult on technical issues specific to IRS practice and procedural issues
- Represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”)
- Prepare written communications to the IRS regarding penalty abatement requests
- Working on the IRS account issues, corrections and reconciliations
- Prepare Private Letter Ruling Requests
- Work with other specialty groups on issues that intersect with other technical matters
- Participate in firm trainings
- Manage multiple projects in fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Mentor staff and provide on the job training and supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA or Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent
- Minimum of five years of Tax experience with deep understanding and experience in IRS practice and procedures, and IRS Controversy
- Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to office regularly and client sites as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrates experience working collaboratively with others and managing a team to achieve operational or project goals
- Knowledge and experience with BBA Partnership Audit Regime
