About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own all aspects of the customer experience and overall client relationship for assigned national clients
  • Lead a team of professionals to deliver service capabilities, exceed expectations, and solve custom client needs
  • Review financial metrics, retention, and growth of the assigned client block
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Disability, Life, FML, State Leaves, Company Leaves, and ADA
  • Drive renewal strategy, profitable growth, cross-selling, and client retention
  • Lead finalist meetings and navigate complex solution discussions
  • Manage merger and divestiture activities and negotiate complex performance guarantees
  • Develop and manage annual client strategies for persistency and profitable growth
  • Interpret client data against benchmark data and recommend future strategies
  • Collaborate with sales, regional offices, implementation managers, and internal support resources
  • Manage relationships with client and broker decision-makers
  • Support new business implementation and renewal preparation
  • Analyze raw data to identify trends and create solutions
  • Develop ad-hoc and customized reporting for brokers and clients
  • Support clients through complex HRIS, payroll, and vendor system changes
  • Achieve or exceed service, persistency, implementation, and customer satisfaction metrics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business or related field
  • 5+ years of group insurance experience servicing clients/client management
  • Group Life and Health License(s) required
  • At least 3 years of experience in group insurance, absence management, disability, leave, and life insurance
  • Experience in client management, sales, or underwriting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High customer service orientation
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • Ability to prioritize urgent responsibilities and escalate as needed
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts and agreements
  • Adaptability and ability to learn in a changing environment
