About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manages all stages of project cycle including planning
  • Maintains and reinforces client relationships through high-quality delivery
  • Develop and deliver project plans, on time, on budget, and with a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risk and ensure project deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Develops travel demand models to support ridership studies
  • Works with little guidance and as part of project teams supporting a variety of projects
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent and effective communication mechanism to project teams and clients participates in the development and implementation of innovative transportation analytics, including, market research surveys, models, and software engineering
  • Actively engages in training and development of junior staff members.
  • May be responsible for directly supervising staff
  • Participates in industry events, e.g., presentations, publications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors or masters degree in transportation, market research, statistics, math, economics, psychology, geography, engineering, or a similarly relevant field of study
  • 6+ years of professional experience, prior experience with travel models, travel demand forecasting or transportation planning
  • Demonstrated experience developing travel forecasts and building and validating travel demand models in one or more transportation modeling package (FTA STOPS, TransCAD, Cube, EMME, and/or VISUM)
  • Solid understanding of and proficiency with Python, R or SQL
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Experience with managing project teams
  • Driven with an achievement orientation to develop new innovative processes in emerging fields
  • Demonstrated professionalism and poise
  • Demonstrated writing ability, technical and business writing
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new customer relationships and build business Opportunities
  • Strong executive presence and presentation skills
  • Communicate complex technical materials in concise and meaningful ways to project team members and clients
