About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manages all stages of project cycle including planning
- Maintains and reinforces client relationships through high-quality delivery
- Develop and deliver project plans, on time, on budget, and with a high level of customer satisfaction
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risk and ensure project deliverables and deadlines are met.
- Develops travel demand models to support ridership studies
- Works with little guidance and as part of project teams supporting a variety of projects
- Establishes and maintains a consistent and effective communication mechanism to project teams and clients participates in the development and implementation of innovative transportation analytics, including, market research surveys, models, and software engineering
- Actively engages in training and development of junior staff members.
- May be responsible for directly supervising staff
- Participates in industry events, e.g., presentations, publications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors or masters degree in transportation, market research, statistics, math, economics, psychology, geography, engineering, or a similarly relevant field of study
- 6+ years of professional experience, prior experience with travel models, travel demand forecasting or transportation planning
- Demonstrated experience developing travel forecasts and building and validating travel demand models in one or more transportation modeling package (FTA STOPS, TransCAD, Cube, EMME, and/or VISUM)
- Solid understanding of and proficiency with Python, R or SQL
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Experience with managing project teams
- Driven with an achievement orientation to develop new innovative processes in emerging fields
- Demonstrated professionalism and poise
- Demonstrated writing ability, technical and business writing
- Demonstrated ability to develop new customer relationships and build business Opportunities
- Strong executive presence and presentation skills
- Communicate complex technical materials in concise and meaningful ways to project team members and clients
