About the role
- Fully execute bi-monthly payroll processing in partnership with our external payroll vendor.
- Prepare, validate, and enter all payroll changes, deductions, adjustments and supplemental pay.
- Ensure accuracy of new hire, termination, and employee data updates.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve complex issues promptly.
- Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and wage and hour laws.
- Document payroll and labor processes; identify and implement improvements.
- Fully own Deltek Vantagepoint timesheet administration, including compliance monitoring, approvals, correction workflows, and reminders.
- Calculate and report employee and team utilization, billability, and capacity metrics in partnership with Operations.
- Maintain and update all employee master data within multiple systems.
- Perform audits and reconciliations of data across systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain the relationship and work with external registered agent to ensure proper state registrations.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of payroll taxes and related remittances.
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and collaborate with the Finance team for month-end and year-end close.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience, is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
- Experience with payroll systems such as Paylocity., ADP, or similar platforms.
- Experience with large ERP/CRM systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Accounting experience with reconciliations and journal entries required.
- Experience working collaboratively with Human Resources on payroll and benefits.
- Experience in a professional services firm working on government contracts preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
