About the role
- Own core corporate FP&A: budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Lead the annual operating plan and long-range plan, tying strategy to financial outcomes and unit economics
- Develop scenario models (base/upside/downside) to evaluate growth bets, hiring plans, and capital efficiency
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Operations to assess pricing/packaging, market expansion, and ROI of growth initiatives
- Build/own board and investor materials (KPIs, narrative, cohort/retention, efficiency metrics)
- Own the monthly forecast and variance analysis (P&L, cash flow, key drivers); explain the “why,” not just the “what.” Include risk and opportunity assessments
- Stand up scalable budgeting processes and drive accountability with budget owners across Marketing, R&D, and G&A
- Design and maintain driver-based models for revenue, headcount, COGS, and opex; translate strategy into targets and guardrails
- Build automated KPI metrics (e.g., ARR/MRR, logo & net retention, CAC/LTV, payback, pipeline coverage, gross margin, R&D/GTM efficiency)
- Partner with Accounting on close and management reporting; ensure clean actuals, accruals, and cut-offs
- Support procurement reviews; improve unit economics and cash runway
- Drive strategic initiatives including pricing/packaging and long-range financial planning
Requirements
- BS/BA in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other quantitative discipline
- 5–8 years total experience (Ideally a mix of investment banking and operating FP&A at a startup or growth-stage technology company)
- Owned complex financial models and business cases; fluent in cohort analysis, funnel/pipeline modeling, and SaaS or tech-enabled services metrics
- Proven cross-functional partner who influences senior management with clear data-driven recommendations
- Advanced Excel (array formulas, index-match/xlookup, scenario & sensitivity analysis)
- Experience preparing board materials and investor-grade analyses
- Strong communication skills to influence C-Suite decision making
- Experience with revenue operations or sales finance; pricing strategy; international expansion preferred
- CPA/CFA/MBA helpful but not required
- Residency in one of the following U.S. states required: California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Washington
