About the role

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a multi-disciplined Italian Sales organisation to achieve market share and revenue growth.
  • Execute strategic plans at pace, ensuring compliance and governance across the end-to-end sales cycle.
  • Drive organic and in-organic growth initiatives, including acquisition opportunities.
  • Build a world-class approach to bids, tenders, and pipeline management to maximise win rates and margins.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and talent development within the sales teams.
  • Act as a thought leader in the industry, maintaining deep market insight and anticipating trends and disruptors.
  • Collaborate seamlessly across EMEA and with strategic customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver business objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of sizable sales growth in a complex, matrix business environment
  • Thorough understanding of customer behaviours and purchasing patterns and appropriate Marketing principles
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable ability to serve as a successful participant on a Leadership team that provides Sales leadership and direction
  • An enthusiastic leader, driving high performance and a culture based on growth mindset and accountability
  • Demonstrable ability to challenge, build credibility and work with integrity at all levels within the organisation to influence behavioural changes and development of skill sets for the future business needs
  • Ability to be a successful mentor, coach and leader for a high-performing sales team
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills and working across functions
  • Cultural awareness and experience of working in a complex matrix organisation
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • Proven change management skills
  • Excellent skills in communication, both written and verbal, with fluent Italian and English language capability
  • Experience of working in multiple product, technology solutions environment such as distribution, retail or wholesale or another business services sector
  • People leader, with a track record of direct and virtual team leadership as well as cross functional project management experience
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Ability to impact and influence in a matrix organisation
  • Self-motivated, flexible and organised. Demonstrates the ability to prioritise workloads, multi-task and act on own initiative
  • Forms positive relationships, strives for high performance and is focussed on their own personal development
  • Strong knowledge of sales processes and how these are embedded into CRM
  • Desirable: M&A Project management and Lean / Six Sigma qualifications and experience
