About the role

  • owns and oversees the overall coordination process for assigned accounts and group programs by ensuring that all aspects are processed in an accurate and timely manner
  • responds to all inquiries relating to the program planning through phone or through written correspondence while adhering to departmental guidelines
  • seeks to upsell onboard amenities and packages to corporate clients throughout the life of the contract
  • responsible for achieving annual departmental, as well as pre cruise onboard revenue goals
  • liaisons with Onboard Revenue teams for Shore-Excursions, Spa, F&B, Specialty Restaurants, Internet and Photo to drive pre-cruise sales
  • reviews all aspects of group contract, including verification of cabin inventory, pre-approved venue conformation and amenities, air requirements, hotel packages, accounting invoices, payments, commission refunds, manifests and documentation
  • clearly explains expectations to prevent miscommunications between Royal Caribbean and the Meeting Planners
  • conducts Week of Sailing Calls to review all program details in the amenity report and to make program adjustments is necessary
  • finalizes and processes amenities in both the AS400 LegaSuite and Affair ware systems
  • researches the logistics and costs of amenity requests, processes all pertinent materials to be sent on board the ships and is responsible for communicating verbally and in written form to all supporting departments in relation to amenity/function requests
  • escorts Day site, site sailing and program sailings as well as conducts Recon meetings as needed
  • processes and enters AFCs received for correction or additions to groups
  • establishes an excellent business relationship between assigned accounts and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd and anticipates the needs of assigned accounts and advises them of opportunities to sell additional business
  • communicates terms and conditions of all new groups booked to assigned accounts
  • reviews all exceptions to policy with Department Supervisor
  • continuously seeks out new and innovative ways to maximize the business relationship between assigned accounts and Royal Caribbean
  • provides pre and post problem resolution
  • performs other duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university preferred; or three to five years of related experience in (Event Planning, Sales or Customer Service)
  • experience (phone sales, customer service and/or event coordination)
  • ability to analyze problems and follow a logical course for its resolution
  • service oriented with a strong sales focus

  • ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments at one time
  • ability to accomplish projects with little supervision
  • possess fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality

  • liaison with the Corporate Sales Team to ensure a successful turnover of contract
