About the role

  • Oversee the end-to-end migration of new reservation system’s database to a new platform
  • Leading cross-functional teams including DBAs, developers, infrastructure, and QA
  • Defining migration strategy, database development, coordinating testing and validation
  • Implementing security and compliance standards
  • Managing risk and rollback plans
  • Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and data stewardship
  • Design and oversee scalable, secure data models, schemas, data pipelines, and integration patterns
  • Lead data security and privacy practices
  • Manage data migration and modernization programs
  • Collaborate with business, analytics, and IT stakeholders
  • Drive platform standardization and technology evaluation
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the data architecture team
  • Ensure disaster recovery, backup, and resilience planning for data platforms

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business or related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required (in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field)
  • 6-8 years of work experience in related field preferred
  • Proficiency with different database technologies (Oracle, Databricks)
  • Ability to code in SQL and Python to manipulate data
  • Ability to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including normalization/denormalization, OLTP, OLAP, Star schemas
  • Experience with tools to design and implement ETL processes and workflows
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts, structures, and best practices
  • Experience establishing data security, privacy, and compliance frameworks and guidelines
  • Experience implementing frameworks for data quality management
  • Ability to align company goals with data architecture and management strategies
  • Experience planning phases of new development, migration, and system building
  • Ability to provide clear and comprehensive documentation
  • Experience communicating complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading projects and teams towards achieving data-related objectives
  • Experience mentoring engineers and analysts
