About the role

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global Marine Technical Procurement team.
  • Formulate and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
  • Work closely with GMO, New-building and Refurbishment to understand technical requirements and operational priorities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for technical procurement needs, ensuring timely and efficient sourcing of marine equipment and spare parts.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process for marine technical assets and services, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and best in class pricing.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement activities.
  • Manage the procurement budget and ensure cost-control measures are in place.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor team performance and procurement effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and sustainable practices in marine procurement.
  • Promote the adoption of digital tools and data analytics to enhance procurement decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in marine technical procurement, supply chain management, New-buildings or related roles, with demonstrated leadership of global teams.
  • Strong understanding of marine industry standards, regulations, and technical specifications.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost optimization.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, strong negotiation-, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-cultural and remote teams effectively.
  • Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
