About the role

  • Developing and maintaining detailed programmes in P6 from first principles including resource loading
  • Integration and management of sub-contractor and supplier programmes with our own
  • Assimilate and interpret information from tender and project documentation
  • Understand civil construction techniques and developing them into a working programme
  • Coordinate with estimators and commercial teams on all programme aspects
  • Compile concise narratives, phasing, reports and supporting documents for input into quality submissions for tenders and projects
  • Take ownership of the programme to drive project delivery
  • Utilise a number of planning techniques and tools to communicate the programme effectively
  • Contribute, support and communicate programme information, risk and commercial issues to operational teams in a variety of formats
  • Chair collaborative planning workshops with clients, operational teams and subcontractors (depending on Project requirements)
  • Update and monitor project progress, compile reports against project and contract requirements
  • Introduce and analyse change in programmes and support the commercial teams
  • Evaluate supply chain and subcontract programmes
  • Comply with business processes and systems
  • Maintain awareness of latest construction techniques.

Requirements

  • Experience of delivering programme under the NEC form of contract is preferable
  • At least 5 years’ planning experience
  • A qualification in Civil Engineering/Construction to HND level or equivalent is preferred but not essential
  • Competent in the use of various planning software, P6 is a must
  • A demonstrable ability to develop, own and drive programmes
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all parties
  • Comfortable in presenting and client facing situations
  • Ability for logical thinking and working in an ordered fashion
  • Experience in producing summary construction or project control information in excel and Power BI would be an advantage
  • Tender experience would be an advantage
  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen with a track record of change management within NEC contracts.
