About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and shape new sales opportunities before formal requirements exist
  • Own the opportunity lifecycle from initial engagement through signed contract
  • Use trials, exercises, SBIR/STTR, OTA, and innovation activities to create access for funded follow-on work
  • Build and manage partnerships across the US defense industrial base, including primes, OEMs, and industry groups
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering customer access, pricing, IP protection, delivery, and scalability
  • Represent Rowden with senior government and industry stakeholders
  • Feed customer, partner, and competitor insights into product roadmaps and pricing models
  • Maintain two-way alignment with UK leadership, engineering, product, and commercial teams
  • Support hiring, facilities, and compliance processes while building Rowden's US presence
  • Shape Rowden's US brand and market position
  • Convert Rowden's product portfolio and engineering credibility into funded US defense contracts, strategic partnerships, and repeatable revenue

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated track record closing sales through non-traditional and rapid acquisition pathways, including OTAs and SBIRs
  • Demonstrated experience running formal or informal capture processes, including pre-RFP opportunity shaping, competitive positioning, teaming decisions, and PWin management
  • Ability to build and leverage relationships with senior officials and program stakeholders to convert user demand into funded programs
  • Strong writing skills with experience writing white papers, RFIs, and proposal responses
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Ability to travel 40–60%
  • Ability to spend one week per quarter at Rowden's Bristol HQ
  • Ability to complete a 6-week onboarding at Rowden's Bristol HQ
  • Experience in communications systems, RF sensing, SIGINT, or electronic warfare is nice to have
  • Experience working for a foreign-owned company scaling its US presence is nice to have
  • Working knowledge of ITAR and EAR export control regimes is nice to have
