About the role
- Develop and manage end-to-end project business plans for hyperscale data center initiatives, including site due diligence, planning, marketing, and lifecycle management
- Implement and manage centralized project tracking systems and reporting tools, while standardizing workflows for task orders, approvals, and documentation; drive adoption of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and governance
- Partner with internal teams (Sites, Energy & Water, Engineering, Construction, Business Development, Finance, Economic Development) to align technical, operational, and commercial priorities
- Track project performance against schedule, cost, and quality baselines, and lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and apply insights for continuous improvement
- Cut through complexity to define goals and metrics with speed, using deep technical judgment to shape project evaluations, technology reviews, and strategic decisions—building consensus without burdening teams with heavy process
- Drive comprehensive risk analysis and mitigation for large-scale data center projects, anticipating technical and delivery risks early, aligning stakeholders on response strategies, and ensuring resilience through contingency planning and real-time monitoring
- Own executive-level communications, including Plans of Record, status updates, and strategic recommendations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, real estate, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
- 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: data center or network capacity planning, data center or network infrastructure program/project management, or related technical fields
- Technical understanding of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (e.g., network connectivity, data centers, hardware, software)
- Experience building and analyzing cost/benefit scenarios and business cases, and communicating results across the organization
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments with high ambiguity
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with financial modeling, vendor management, and global supply chain strategies is a plus
