About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect Rover’s consideration engine and strategically deploy brand identity across upper-funnel channels to drive measurable business impact and growth
- Drive long-range strategy for upper-funnel channels and set goals and OKRs for new-customer growth and measured consideration
- Influence annual planning cycles using media best practices and emerging industry shifts
- Integrate upper-funnel strategy with the Brand team’s vision and provide performance-data feedback
- Lead media buying, negotiations, inventory quality, and placement strategy across Linear TV, OTT/CTV, Audio, Podcast, OOH, and Programmatic channels
- Manage complex external agency relationships, coach agencies, and hold them accountable to performance benchmarks
- Manage large-scale program budgets
- Develop marketing metrics and measurement frameworks with Marketing Data Science
- Interpret and apply Media Mix Modeling (MMM) and propose Geo-Uplift tests to measure incrementality
- Solve complex issues including CTV signal loss and multi-channel attribution in privacy-first environments
- Automate marketing workflows and operationalize AI tools within the department
- Architect AI-tool use cases to solve complex business problems
- Distill complex media and AI concepts for executive stakeholders
- Establish business rhythms to share findings and improve team prioritization and efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8–12+ years of relevant experience in high-scale media strategy with a consumer brand, ideally a two-sided marketplace
- Demonstrated expertise leveraging upper-funnel channels to drive new customers and measuring their impact
- Demonstrated workflow automation improvements using Scripts, Python, SaaS tools, and AI
- Ability to act as the team’s AI expert and expand team capabilities
- Hands-on experience implementing Geo-Uplift testing and tactically applying MMM results
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in a quantitative or business field is a plus
- Experience managing agencies, holding them accountable for results, and managing an RFP process
- Experience managing campaigns in the UK and EU is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with internal Brand teams and Marketing Data Science
- Curiosity and willingness to learn and challenge assumptions
- Pet-related brand experience is nice to have
