About the role
- Assessing, monitoring, and treating patients with various respiratory conditions.
- Conducting pulmonary function screenings using spirometry equipment.
- Providing patient education regarding respiratory equipment and medications.
- Administering respiratory treatments such as albuterol.
- Conducting diagnostic testing including measuring lung capacity and pre- and post-pulmonary function testing.
- Regularly assessing patient progress and adjusting therapies as necessary.
- Communicating effectively with healthcare teams and ensuring patient safety.
Requirements
- Licensure: Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Certification: Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and/or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred.
- Also excepted: AARC Office Spirometry Certificate
- Experience in performing spirometry testing.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications
