About the role

  • Assessing, monitoring, and treating patients with various respiratory conditions.
  • Conducting pulmonary function screenings using spirometry equipment.
  • Providing patient education regarding respiratory equipment and medications.
  • Administering respiratory treatments such as albuterol.
  • Conducting diagnostic testing including measuring lung capacity and pre- and post-pulmonary function testing.
  • Regularly assessing patient progress and adjusting therapies as necessary.
  • Communicating effectively with healthcare teams and ensuring patient safety.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Certification: Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and/or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred.
  • Also excepted: AARC Office Spirometry Certificate
  • Experience in performing spirometry testing.
  • Strong communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications
