About the role
- Assessing, monitoring, and treating patients with various respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, and emphysema.
- Conduct Pulmonary Function Screenings using spirometry equipment to perform comprehensive pulmonary function tests (PFTs).
- Provide patient education regarding preparation and execution of tests, including the use of respiratory equipment.
- Administer albuterol for post-pulmonary function examination.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, including measuring lung capacity and spirometry.
- Regularly assess patient progress during treatment and adjust therapies as necessary.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during procedures
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and/or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred.
- Experience in performing spirometry testing.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications
