About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical engineering oversight and design team management for assigned engineering projects
Manage project financials, resource allocation, logistics, and technical leadership
Mentor and train supervised staff
Understand project requirements and develop design fees
Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources
Oversee Engineers, Designers, and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work
Communicate required effort and deliverables with Project Managers or Executives
Develop requests for additional services for submission to the Project Manager or Owner
Lead the Engineering CAC effort and interact with the project Project Manager
Resolve complex design, materials, and coordination problems
Supervise coordination with city, state, and county officials and regulatory agencies
Attend project design meetings with the overall Design Build Team
Conduct job site visits to review installations or assess current conditions
Perform Value Engineering studies
Act as Engineer of Record for assigned projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences
Minimum of 8 years of Engineering Experience
Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required
Field experience is strongly recommended
Education and experience can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience
Knowledge of engineering processes and calculations, including load calculations, equipment layout, distribution, lighting, controls, utility coordination, grounding, value engineering, applicable codes, and standards
Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning
Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others
Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems
Ability to oversee electrical system studies including Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop/Droop, and Underground Thermal Calculations
Management skills in work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, staff development, and advancement planning
Knowledge of electrical construction sufficient to understand how design packages will be built
Fluency with Building Codes and Local Codes in project areas
Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills; Oracle preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees, management, vendors, clients, Trade Partners, and others
Willingness to travel up to 25%, excluding local field visits
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
