About the role

  • Communication network equipment
  • Configuration of real-time controllers to serve as RTUs
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI) or server to an upstream SCADA client

  • Commissioning/field support

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 6+ years relevant application experience electric power systems, integration and automation, industry controls & protocols, network/communication systems
  • Willing to travel domestically a minimum of 30% based on focus area
  • Experience with configuration of SEL automation, communication products and engineering software, e.g., RTAC, Rugged Computers, DPAC, RTUs, etc.
  • Experience with server/client SCADA applications
  • Familiar with industry standard time synchronization protocols/method - IEEE1588/PTP, NTP, SNTP, IRIG, etc.
  • Familiar with IEC-61131-3 or any other object-oriented programming principles
  • Basic understanding of NERC-PRC/CIP requirements
  • Basic understanding of networking principles including routing, switching, IP address subnetting, firewall configuration/operation and network design and protocols such as PRP, HSR etc.
  • Experience with electric power transmission, substation, distribution, and/or generation systems and understanding of substation equipment and electrical switchgear.
