About the role

  • Monitors progress and performance of multiple teams and safety programs, taking corrective action as necessary
  • Plans and assigns work for team members
  • Identifies, teaches, and develops future leaders and wider safety members
  • Coach and manage HSE professionals to build capability, strengthen talent pipelines, and address performance issues
  • Align corporate safety strategy with field execution across construction and operational sites
  • Assess training needs and develop targeted programs for teams and project sites
  • Facilitate communication between corporate EHS leadership, field teams, and frontline stakeholders to ensure consistent program implementation
  • Promote accountability across business and field leadership
  • Serve as a liaison with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all phases of the data center lifecycle
  • Contribute to cross-company initiatives related to safety, including resiliency, business continuity, ESG, and workforce engagement
  • Provide proactive, strategic safety insights to senior leadership on emerging risks and incident trends
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and develop site-specific safety plans
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in company HSE standards, programs, and goals
  • Champion HSE standards across projects to foster a safe and productive environment
  • Partner with EHS training teams as a subject matter expert to ensure technical and regulatory competency
  • Support additional EHS initiatives as assigned
  • Manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality support to internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a strategic contributor to the Health & Safety Program team, driving innovation and direction
  • Collaborate with global HSE and governance teams to develop proactive risk-reduction strategies

Requirements

  • 4-year related degree and 8 years related experience plus ASP certification or 11 years relevant experience and SMS
  • Ability to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites
