About the role
- Monitors progress and performance of multiple teams and safety programs, taking corrective action as necessary
- Plans and assigns work for team members
- Identifies, teaches, and develops future leaders and wider safety members
- Coach and manage HSE professionals to build capability, strengthen talent pipelines, and address performance issues
- Align corporate safety strategy with field execution across construction and operational sites
- Assess training needs and develop targeted programs for teams and project sites
- Facilitate communication between corporate EHS leadership, field teams, and frontline stakeholders to ensure consistent program implementation
- Promote accountability across business and field leadership
- Serve as a liaison with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into all phases of the data center lifecycle
- Contribute to cross-company initiatives related to safety, including resiliency, business continuity, ESG, and workforce engagement
- Provide proactive, strategic safety insights to senior leadership on emerging risks and incident trends
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and develop site-specific safety plans
- Maintain a high level of expertise in company HSE standards, programs, and goals
- Champion HSE standards across projects to foster a safe and productive environment
- Partner with EHS training teams as a subject matter expert to ensure technical and regulatory competency
- Support additional EHS initiatives as assigned
- Manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality support to internal stakeholders
- Serve as a strategic contributor to the Health & Safety Program team, driving innovation and direction
- Collaborate with global HSE and governance teams to develop proactive risk-reduction strategies
Requirements
- 4-year related degree and 8 years related experience plus ASP certification or 11 years relevant experience and SMS
- Ability to spend 80% of working time on active construction sites
