About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide indirect and direct patient care within the scope of practice
- Assist with the completion of patient chief complaints and vital sign assessments
- Maintain clinical and administrative skills per departmental competency guidelines
- Document in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and appropriately
- Support patient and provider with virtual health visits and related preparations
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Perform front desk workflows as needed and follow up on patient appointments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA) required
- High School/GED (required)
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary education program (preferred in all states except South Carolina)
- 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience (preferred)
- Completion of externship or clinical lab training (preferred)
- Ability to assist with virtual health visits and related technology
- Understanding of medical terminology and patient care protocols
