About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide patient care at Roper St. Francis Healthcare sites as assigned using approved protocols
- Facilitate timely communication of clinical advice to patients electronically or by phone as directed by practice providers
- Ensure all needed medical records are available to care teams and providers before office visits
- Coordinate with team members to provide exceptional patient service
- Receive training on the Electronic Health Record system
- Assist physicians with outpatient office procedures
- Perform triage and patient care using assessment skills
- Maintain communication and working relationships with patients, physicians, staff members, and the public
- May take call and/or work weekends or holidays based on department needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- One to two years RN experience preferred
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina, or hold a current compact/multi-state RN license in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and not be a permanent resident of South Carolina
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card
- Ability to use clinical equipment including EKG machine, spirometer, Hemocue, and pulse oximeter
- Basic knowledge of medication policy and procedure
- Effective assessment skills for triage and patient care
- Ability to assist physicians with outpatient office procedures
- Strong patient-centered focus
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to organize and manage competing priorities
- Problem-solving and good judgment
- Ability to read and comprehend
- Ability to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours
- Ability to lift or move items up to 50 lbs. and intermittently lift/move patients
- Corrected hearing and vision within normal range
