About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide patient care at Roper St. Francis Healthcare sites as assigned using approved protocols
  • Facilitate timely communication of clinical advice to patients electronically or by phone as directed by practice providers
  • Ensure all needed medical records are available to care teams and providers before office visits
  • Coordinate with team members to provide exceptional patient service
  • Receive training on the Electronic Health Record system
  • Assist physicians with outpatient office procedures
  • Perform triage and patient care using assessment skills
  • Maintain communication and working relationships with patients, physicians, staff members, and the public
  • May take call and/or work weekends or holidays based on department needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • One to two years RN experience preferred
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina, or hold a current compact/multi-state RN license in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and not be a permanent resident of South Carolina
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card
  • Ability to use clinical equipment including EKG machine, spirometer, Hemocue, and pulse oximeter
  • Basic knowledge of medication policy and procedure
  • Effective assessment skills for triage and patient care
  • Ability to assist physicians with outpatient office procedures
  • Strong patient-centered focus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to organize and manage competing priorities
  • Problem-solving and good judgment
  • Ability to read and comprehend
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours
  • Ability to lift or move items up to 50 lbs. and intermittently lift/move patients
  • Corrected hearing and vision within normal range
