About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive financial data operations, including commissions payments, incentive programs, and critical backend financial systems
Lead complex technical initiatives across engineers within the data domain
Ensure accuracy, scalability, and reliability of data pipelines supporting financial processes
Partner with Finance, Product, and Engineering stakeholders to define strategy and shape the technical roadmap
Deliver systems supporting high-stakes financial workflows
Improve platform-level tooling for faster onboarding of data sources
Integrate data with partners
Enable faster experimentation cycles
Build analytics and data science infrastructure for rapid decision loops
Set strategy with Finance, Product, Data Science, Analytics, and Insurance stakeholders
Identify and socialize technical initiatives improving products, systems, and teams
Coach and guide engineers in planning aligned experiments and projects
Contribute code each development cycle
Lead incident response and improve system resiliency
Coordinate with Staff Engineers to establish and evangelize standards and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of data engineering or software engineering experience with extensive expertise in data engineering
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Proficiency in Redshift, Spark, Apache Iceberg, and Terraform
Proficiency in Airflow and dbt
Expertise in AWS cloud architecture
Proven leadership of projects involving multiple teams across functional domains
Excellent communication skills with engineering colleagues and senior business leaders
Ability to be on camera for virtual interviews
Expertise in building large-scale finance, payments, and commissions systems is a bonus
