Bilingual Health and Safety Specialist

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead by example by adhering to all company health and safety policies and procedures
- Plan, organize, and deliver health and safety training effectively, ensuring legislative requirements are met and updating the training matrix
- Communicate information clearly and engagingly, ensuring participants understand the material and are motivated to follow what is taught
- Analyze and evaluate training effectiveness
- Collaborate with managers
- Assist in reviewing and updating the existing curriculum as needed
- Help develop new training programs and prepare new training materials that meet established standards
- Maintain and organize a clean training environment
- Contribute to the implementation of health and safety programs to reduce workplace injuries
- Report any violations of legal regulations or company policies to management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary education in health and safety management preferred
- 3–5 years of health and safety experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Good knowledge of laws, regulations, and standards governing workplace health and safety
- Strong understanding of major hazards related to commercial vehicles, machine safety, lockout/tagout, working at heights, chemical management, and ergonomics
- Certified to train trainers on forklift operation
- Certified to train trainers in first aid
- Strong organizational skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Windows
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to travel
- This position requires fluency in French and English.
