About the role
- Own strategy and execution for core systems, tools, and services that power Roo's labor marketplace.
- Enable faster development, greater scalability, and improved reliability across the product.
- Partner with engineering, design, analytics, and department leaders to create reusable infrastructure.
- Work on zero-to-one platform investments and scaling efforts that reduce complexity and accelerate product velocity.
- Measure success by adoption, performance, and leverage across the company.
- Report to the VP of Product; collaborate remotely with occasional onsite work in San Francisco.
- Develop and align team around clear platform strategy; evolve roadmap for internal platform systems.
- Identify and eliminate technical bottlenecks; collaborate on build-vs-buy decisions; use metrics to measure impact.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years focused on platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
- Proven ability to define and deliver cross-cutting systems or services adopted by multiple teams.
- Strong technical fluency—able to collaborate closely with engineers and understand architectural tradeoffs.
- Skilled at prioritization and decision-making in ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communicator with a track record of building trust across product, engineering, and operations teams.
- Experience using data (quantitative and qualitative) to inform platform investments and monitor performance.
- Strong ownership mindset with a bias for action and outcome over output.
- Bonus: Experience in marketplaces, healthcare tech, or scaling products at an early-stage startup.
