About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings
- Lead root-cause investigations on safety or reliability in-service events
- Introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions
- Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers) including acceptance limit development to support the engine programs and meet the design and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholder
- Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and to adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders.
- Where delegated, act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on build, commissioning and maintenance activities
- Increase the value from our overhaul network through proactive identification of cost reduction activities
- Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and learning from experience activities, feeding back into future programs and product design teams
- Represent Rolls-Royce at external customer conferences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science in Aerospace Engineering Technology with 2+ years of engineering experience, OR Master's degree in Engineering or Science in Aerospace Engineering Technology, OR PhD in Engineering or Science in Aerospace Engineering Technology
- Engineering or Numerical degree (or equivalent with experience)
- Knowledge of components/systems functionality and numerical methods
- Experience of working on complex tasks that are novel and ambiguous
- Familiarity of the in-service operation environment, including regulatory and compliance requirements
- Experience in troubleshooting and/or problem resolution
- Experience in support/lead cross-functional teams e.g. specialists, suppliers, customers, partners
