About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings
Lead root-cause investigations on safety or reliability in-service events
Introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions
Develop and approve the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers) including acceptance limit development to support the engine programs and meet the design and regulatory requirements
Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholder
Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and to adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders.
Where delegated, act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on build, commissioning and maintenance activities
Increase the value from our overhaul network through proactive identification of cost reduction activities
Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and learning from experience activities, feeding back into future programs and product design teams
Represent Rolls-Royce at external customer conferences

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science in Aerospace Engineering Technology with 2+ years of engineering experience, OR Master's degree in Engineering or Science in Aerospace Engineering Technology, OR PhD in Engineering or Science in Aerospace Engineering Technology
Engineering or Numerical degree (or equivalent with experience)
Knowledge of components/systems functionality and numerical methods
Experience of working on complex tasks that are novel and ambiguous
Familiarity of the in-service operation environment, including regulatory and compliance requirements
Experience in troubleshooting and/or problem resolution
Experience in support/lead cross-functional teams e.g. specialists, suppliers, customers, partners
