About the role

  • Owns the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable data pipelines using our ETL system.
  • Owns the development and optimization of our analytical data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake), ensuring data models are efficient, scalable, and serve business needs.
  • Leads the implementation of data quality frameworks and best practices to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and trackability of our data assets across the entire stack.
  • Partners with the Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, and other engineering teams to understand their data requirements and deliver robust, effective data solutions.
  • Provides input to the broader data strategy and technology roadmap, proactively suggesting improvements and innovations to our data stack.
  • Supports the operational health of our data systems through proactive monitoring, automation, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Foundational Experience: A strong background in data engineering or a similar role with proven proficiency and a track record of deploying high-quality code in production environments.
  • Core Technical Skills:
  • - Deep understanding of SQL and extensive experience with analytical data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery or similar.
  • - Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines and a firm grasp of ETL/ELT best practices.
  • - Familiarity with version control using Git and project management.
  • - Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Preferred:
  • - Cloud & DevOps Experience: Experience building and deploying solutions on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • - Tooling Knowledge: Familiarity with modern data stack tools and business intelligence platforms like Tableau, Metabase.
  • - Collaborative Skills: Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new technologies and work collaboratively across teams to meet data requirements.
