About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote teamwork and serve as a resource to the multidisciplinary patient-care team
- Train, coach, consult with, and support assigned behavior specialists and therapists
- Oversee development, coordination, and facilitation of social services for patients and families
- Collaborate with site operational and clinical leadership
- Provide direct patient care and social services as needed
- Oversee timely planning and patient care from admission through discharge
- Ensure staff scheduling and coverage needs are met
- Establish and communicate goals consistent with job duties, program requirements, and Rogers’ mission
- Evaluate staff and report to the Director/Manager of Operations
- Participate in staff evaluations, orientation, supervision, coaching, and professional growth
- Participate in department and multidisciplinary meetings, committees, performance-improvement meetings, and team projects
- Follow cases and provide feedback to improve quality of care
- Accept patient assignments and provide group, individual, and family therapy
- Participate in interdisciplinary staffing and discuss patient progress
- Audit 20% of charts based on daily census
- Resolve medical-record deficiencies and recommend improvements based on audit trends
- Provide feedback, education, and observations to staff and leadership
- Assist with recruitment and conduct comprehensive interviews
- Participate in marketing, outreach visits, educational talks, and community events
- Promote department goals, Rogers’ mission, and compliance with policies and procedures
- Support conflict resolution and investigations in collaboration with Human Resources
- Monitor variances and their impact on the department budget
- Educate staff regarding applicable regulations and requirements, including Joint Commission and State of Wisconsin guidelines
- Demonstrate measurable goal achievement and timely completion of tasks
- Communicate professionally and resolve peer issues in a positive, solution-focused manner
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in health care and at least two (2) years in a psychiatric setting, preferred
- Full, independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state practicing
- A substance abuse specialty authorization applicable to the state hired in is required
- If working in a program requiring substance use credentialing, SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC is preferred in WI
- Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups, as well as the dynamics of human growth and behavior
- Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapies, as applicable to the program
- American Red Cross Professional Rescue certification required within thirty (30) days of date of hire, with bi-annual re-certification
- Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient (NCI) required within sixty (60) days of date of hire, with annual re-certification
- Attend all mandatory in-services and other relevant in-services
- Fulfill educational requirements and obligations pertaining to the program/unit license and regulatory requirements
