About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Promote teamwork, assistance, and being a resource to the multidisciplinary team for patient care
Work directly with behavior specialists and therapists to train, coach, provide consultation and support to assigned staff
Have oversight of development, coordination, and facilitation of social services provided to patients and their families
Collaborate with and support the site operational and clinical leadership team
Provide direct patient care and social services as needed
Collaborate with the site leadership team to provide oversight and resources for clinical staff
Oversee and assure effective planning and patient care from admission to discharge is performed in a timely manner by staff
Ensure all staff scheduling and coverage needs are met
Communicate goals to staff
Evaluate and report to the Director/Manager of Operations
Participate in staff evaluations
Promote a team environment by example and by participating in workload completion and accepting patient assignments
Assist employees in professional growth
Participate in department and multidisciplinary meetings and provide timely communication and problem resolution
Follow cases to provide feedback for the improvement of the quality of care delivered by staff
Participate in the orientation and supervision of new staff and student interns
Provide patient care
Accept patient assignment and requests for coverage
Provide effective group, individual, and/or family therapy as necessary
Conduct medical record audits to identify deficiencies, improve quality of care and consistency.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in health care
At least two (2) years in a psychiatric setting, preferred
Full, independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent in state practicing
If working in a program requiring substance use credentialing, A SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC is preferred in WI
A substance abuse specialty authorization applicable to the state hired in is required
Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups, as well as the dynamics of human growth and behavior
Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient (NCI) is required within sixty (60) days of date of hire
Attend all mandatory in-services and other in-services relevant to the position.
