About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote teamwork, assistance, and being a resource to the multidisciplinary team for patient care
  • Work directly with behavior specialists and therapists to train, coach, provide consultation and support to assigned staff
  • Have oversight of development, coordination, and facilitation of social services provided to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with and support the site operational and clinical leadership team
  • Provide direct patient care and social services as needed
  • Collaborate with the site leadership team to provide oversight and resources for clinical staff
  • Oversee and assure effective planning and patient care from admission to discharge is performed in a timely manner by staff
  • Ensure all staff scheduling and coverage needs are met
  • Communicate goals to staff
  • Evaluate and report to the Director/Manager of Operations
  • Participate in staff evaluations
  • Promote a team environment by example and by participating in workload completion and accepting patient assignments
  • Assist employees in professional growth
  • Participate in department and multidisciplinary meetings and provide timely communication and problem resolution
  • Follow cases to provide feedback for the improvement of the quality of care delivered by staff
  • Participate in the orientation and supervision of new staff and student interns
  • Provide patient care
  • Accept patient assignment and requests for coverage
  • Provide effective group, individual, and/or family therapy as necessary
  • Conduct medical record audits to identify deficiencies, improve quality of care and consistency.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in health care
  • At least two (2) years in a psychiatric setting, preferred
  • Full, independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent in state practicing
  • If working in a program requiring substance use credentialing, A SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC is preferred in WI
  • A substance abuse specialty authorization applicable to the state hired in is required
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups, as well as the dynamics of human growth and behavior
  • Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient (NCI) is required within sixty (60) days of date of hire
  • Attend all mandatory in-services and other in-services relevant to the position.
