About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You'll be instrumental in the delivery of mechanical and plumbing utilities to ensure that all buildings, and all process equipment demand for utilities are fulfilled.
- This includes supply strategy, dimensioning and back-up considerations.
- You'll work with design, installation, commissioning, and running-in of major projects, including that all equipment within the factory are supplied where required including: main utility supply strategy, tank requirements and installations, pump supply, dimensioning and redundancy (back-up supply) considerations.
- Ensure that the necessary expertise from other departments - environment, safety, MMR’s, are included in the solutions.
- Communicate and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Ensure all documentation / reporting is done and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years working in a similar position, with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications
- 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar program
- Ability to travel both nationally and internationally 60% of the time
- Extended periods of presence at project sites are required, ie. temporary relocation
- Strong communication skills
- Adhere to confidentiality with proprietary processes
- Preference given to candidates who have smith, mechanic or other type of craftsman expertise.
